The high-end radar detector technology from Beltronics just keeps on getting better. The new Beltronics GX 65 now features GPS capability from the Escort Passport 9500i and Escort Passport 9500ix.
The Beltronics Pro GX65 combines the benefits of the Escort Passport 9500i and the Escort Passport 9500ix. The Escort Passport 9500i featured GPS technology and manual-marking of locations, used especially for the marking of false locations and VASCAR speed traps.
The 9500ix included auto-learning capability to detect false locations, and alert drivers to the presence of traffic light cameras, fixed speed cameras, and mobile cameras through the use of Cheetah's Trinity database. The Beltronics Pro GX65 is available now with a red LED display model. Its suggested retail price is $469, which puts its price between that of the Escort Passport 9500i (Red), which is $449, and the Escort Passport 9500ix (Blue), which is $499.

As those familiar with the high-quality Beltronics RX65 Pro and Beltronics technology will be able to tell, the Beltronics Pro GX65 is the natural and next step in the progression of this line of traditional, non-Spectre immune (as opposed to the Beltronics STi Driver model, which cannot be detected by Spectre), windshield-mount radar detectors from Beltronics.
If you are used to having the auto-learning feature of the Escort Passport 9500ix and Escort Passport 9500ci remote installed detector, you will miss it if you don’t have it completely implemented in your Beltronics Pro RX65. One should take note that for only $30 more, you can get an Escort Passport 9500ix, with its auto-learning technology and attractive blue LED display.
This price difference seems very small when you consider that, in the past, the $30 difference separated radar detector models by color display only, without added performance benefits.
My guess is that the introduction of the Beltronics Pro GX65 may be an indication that the Escort Passport 9500i, which is still available with the red positioning display, is on its way to being phased out over time. You can update the software on your BEL GX65 using a PC USB cable.
In time, there will probably be an update with added features available for the Pro GX65, and I am hoping for the incorporation of the auto-learning feature. I have really been a big fan of Beltronics radar detectors for quite a while, and I am very glad that the Beltronics Pro series is still being improved.
