Cobra XRS 9430 Radar Detectors
These past few weeks have given me plenty of time to thoroughly test my new Cobra XRA 9430 radar detector, and I am very pleased with the results I have gotten. The new Cobra XRS 9430 radar detector did not detect nearly as many false alarms as my old Whistler radar detector, and it never missed a single radar signal that it should have been picking up.
There are two options for warning the driver about radar signals being detected. I preferred the beep tone over the woman's voice, but other people may prefer the opposite option. The volume level is neither loud nor soft; it will not intrude upon listening to your radio station, but it will definitely make itself heard over road noise and the background sounds of traffic jams.
If you make it a habit to listen to loud music on your radio, however, you may need to pay a little bit closer attention to your Cobra XRS 9430 radar detector. Mounting the Cobra XRS 9430 radar detector on my windshield proved to be a little bit of a challenge. Its mounting system is based on an array of suction cups, and windshields typically vary in shape and size.
Since my Cobra radar detector was purchased as a refurbished unit, the suction cups were already shaped to a different windshield, and I had a little bit of trouble getting mine to stick properly to its new windshield. I was patient with it, and in the end I mounted the Cobra XRS 9430 on my windshield successfully. Overall, the Cobra XRS 9430 is an excellent consumer radar detection device.
The Cobra radar detector is attractively and affordably priced, maintaining its value beyond its first use into a refurbished condition. It performs its function of radar detection as well as any person could ask for, as well as offering a few useful features above and beyond its excellent performance. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a deal on a radar detector without sacrificing quality of radar detection or features.
